DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - After taking out Aurora in their first match of the day, the Loras men's volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season, falling 3-1 to Augustana.
Leo Peters totaled 30 kills while hitting .305 while adding six blocks.

Loras vs. Aurora

Alfredo Lopez closed out the first set with three aces to give the Duhawks the 25-16 win
• After trading points to open up the second set, the Duhawks rallied for a seven-point run, forcing an Aurora timeout
• The Spartans closed out the second set with a 10-3 run
• Aurora picked up where they left off to start the third set taking an early 12-7 lead leading to the Duhawk timeout

• To start of their second match of the day, the Duhawks and Vikings traded points for the majority of the first set, but a 6-1 rally by Augustana gave them the 25-21 first set win

Grant Ooms for the finish, tying the score at 15 in the second set
• With the second set on the line,
Jake Chudzik blasted a service ace off the back row player to give Loras the second set, 25-23
• Trailing 19-13, Augustana crafted a 12-4 run to come from behind and win, 25-23
• With their backs to the wall, the Duhawks looked to be in position to force a fifth set, leading 23-21, but a 5-1 run by the Vikings ended the match, 26-24

• The Duhawks recorded season highs in blocks with 12.5 and 11
• Peters finished with a career-high 18 kills versus Aurora, which is tied for eighth-best in program history
• Chudzik set a new career-best with 13 kills against the Spartans
