October 26, 2019 - The Loras College women's soccer team (13-4, 7-1 A-R-C) defeated Nebraska Wesleyan (12-5, 3-4 A-R-C), 3-0, to earn their thirteenth and fourth straight regular-season conference championship.
The Duhawks led in shots (16-7) and corner kicks (10-3).Â
Loras scored first in the 3rd minute of play when
Payton McDonnell sent a corner kick to find the head of
Brynn Jacobi for her 10th goal of the season. McDonnell extended the Duhawks lead toÂ
2-0 in the 13th minute sending a shot straight on from 10 yards out.Â
Ryleigh O'Brien capped off the scoring in the 53rd minute thanks to Abby Ericksen's cross to give the Duhawks the 3-0.Â
Nebraska Wesleyan's best shot of the night came from Suzie McDonald in the 59th minute, but Duhawk keeper
Kaylee Coble was up to the task and made the save to keep the shut out alive.Â
With the win, Loras has earned a first-round bye in the 2019 American Rivers Conference Tournament and the No. 1 overall seed.Â
