CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Oct. 26, 2019) – Taking to the road for the second dual meet of the season, Sarah Shafer and Nina Schiro won three combined events for the Loras College swimming and diving team on Friday night against a deep Coe College squad. The Duhawks dropped the decision 123-87 on the women's side and 134-59 in the men's events.

Shafer posted wins in the 50-yard freestyle (25.76) and 100-yard butterfly (1:02.47) while Schiro won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:06.80. She also finished second in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 2:10.34.

On the men's side, the Duhawks owned a number of runner-up finishes as Charles Holmes placed second in the 100-yard freestyle (54.96) and Tim LaGrange placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.44). Zach Nelson placed second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:14.97 and the 1000-yard freestyle (10:50.47).

Loras' next dual is set for Saturday, Nov. 2 as the Duhawks host Iowa Central Community College in the morning and Illinois Institute of Technology in the afternoon at San Jose Pool.
