KISSIMMEE, Fla (Duhawks.com) - The Duhawks four game win streak came to an end on Monday while facing No. 14 Keystone College. The back-and-fourth battle ended with a walk off rbi double by Keystone in the bottom of the 11th inning.
Robbie Agerbeek hit his second homerun of the season for the Duhawks, but it wasn't enough as they fell 12-11.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
-With two outs in the top of the first, Agerbeek went yard to left field to give the Duhawks a quick 3-0 lead.
-Keystone answered with a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning, by scoring from first on a double.
-The Duhawks put up four more runs in the 2nd when they scored on an
Austin Konagel single, and back-to-back rbi doubles by
Cole Thompson and
Jake Oglesby.
-Keystone started to chip into the Duhawk lead by scoring a run in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th inning.
-After leading 7-4 the Duhawks struggled defensively in the 6th inning as they gave up seven runs to trail 11-7.
-The Duhawks responded in the top of the 7th by scoring three runs on a bases loaded ground out, and a two-rbi single by
Danny Paluch.
-Paluch came up big, again in the top of the 9th, as he doubled in
Dakota Church to tie the game at eleven.
-In the bottom of the 11th, Keystone ended the game in walk off fashion after hitting a double into the left field corner to score the winning run.
NOTABLES
-Agerbeek launched his second homerun of the season.
-Freshman,
Ethan Peters, made his first college start and threw 3.2 innings while giving up three runs and striking out seven.
-The pitching staff for the Duhawks consisted of an all freshman committee that consisted of Peters,
Garret Heer,
Brock Wanninger, and
Edward Erickson.
