Box Score 2 Cedar Rapids, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Duhawk women's softball team returned to action to face non-conference opponent Mount Mercy. Loras was defeated in both games 7-1 and 5-3.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Game: 1 | Mount Mercy 7, Loras 1
• Mount Mercy scored one run in the first inning to take the lead 1-0.
• In the second inning the Mustangs tallied three runs to push their lead to 4-0.
• The Duhawks kept Mustangs scoreless in the third and fourth innings, and remained down by four heading into the fifth inning.
• Mount Mercy secured three more runs in the fifth inning to push their lead to 7-0.
• The Duhawks found success in the seventh inning thanks to
Ashley Lentine who batted in
Hadalyn Anderson. Loras fell 7-1.
Game: 2 | Mount Mercy 5, Loras 3
• Mount Mercy struck first and lead 1-0 at the end of the first inning.
• The Duhawks held the Mustangs in the second inning and found the home plate in the third inning to grab their first run of the night. Mount Mercy answered after Loras scored to go up 2-1.
• The scored steadied at 2-1 at the end of the fourth while the Mustangs tallied two runs in the fifth inning push their the lead 4-1.
• In sixth inning Mount Mercy added one run to their total to move the score to 5-1.
• Loras closed out the final inning with two runs secured by Baumann and Lentine to fall 5-3.

Loras will face UW-Oshkosh in a double header on Saturday, March 23. The games are scheduled for 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
