CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Duhawks fell to the Coe College Kohawks in game one of their three game series. The Kohawks have already clinched the number one seed in the American Rivers Conference Tournament, but still played their hardest to defeat Loras by a score of 6-2. The Duhawks were led on offense by
Cole Thompson who went 4-for-4 with four singles.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
-With the game knotted at zeros,
Danny Paluch launched a triple off the top of the fence which drove in the first two runs of the ball game.
-Coe responded with their first run of the game in the bottom half of the 3rd.
-The Kohawks put up three runs in the 6th to take their first lead of the game at 4-2.
-Coe added to the lead with a run in the 7th and 8th inning.Â
NOTABLES
-After snapping his 8-game hit streak, Thompson got back on track by singling each time to the plate.
-Paluch hit his 2nd triple of the season.
-Thompson's conference batting average jumped from .246 to .288 with his 4-for-4 effort.
