WAVERLY, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras College softball team traveled to Waverly, Iowa to face in-conference opponent Wartburg College. The Duhawks fell in game one 5-4, and 7-6 in game two.

Game 1: 
Wartburg 5, Loras 4

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED

• The game was held scorless until the fourth inning until the Duhawks tallied four runs in the fourth inning
• Wartburg scored two runs in the fifth and the sixth
• The knights closed the first game as the Duhawks couldn't cross the plate in the seventh


Game 2: 
Wartburg 7, Loras 6

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• The Duhawks struck first in the third inning when Ashley Lentine sent a single to center field to bat in Maddie Doubek and Madison Franks 
• Shannon Coyle closed the third inning with a single to left field to bat in Ashley Lentine
• Wartburg answered with two runs in the bottom of the third
• Lauren Fritz sacrifice fly to bring in Maddie Doubek and give Loras the 4-2 lead
• In the sixth inning Haddie Anderson hit a home run over the left center field fence to grab two RBI's
• The knights scored six runs in the seventh to bring it even at 7
• Loras forced extra innings but it wasnt enough as Wartburg tallied one run in the eighth inning
