DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Duhawks completed their first mid-week series of the season against Central College with a 7-4 win. After losing 10-6 and 5-4 on the road last week, Loras came out strong and won game three. The Duhawks were led by
Austin Konagel who went 3-for-5 with a RBI and two runs scored.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
-Central took the lead early after scoring on a wild pitch in the 2nd inning, and then again in the 3rd inning on a RBI single.
-Trailing 2-0, Loras took the lead in the 5th on a Konagel fielder's choice, and
Cole Thompson RBI double, and a
Robbie Agerbeek RBI triple.
-In the 6th, the Dutch tied the game on a solo home run to left field.
-The Duhawks took the lead again in the bottom of the 7th due to a double by
Dakota Church that scored
Danny Paluch.
-Loras continued their strong offense in the 8th by scoring on a wild pitch, a RBI single by Thompson, and a sacrifice fly by Paluch to take a 7-3 lead.
-Central added a run in the top of the 9th, but it wasn't enough to comeback and defeat Loras.

Dylan Pardoe has now reached base in his last eleven games for the Duhawks.
-Loras has won at least one game against Central in each of the last four seasons.

Sam Marhefke picked up his third win of the season, as the usual weekend starter pitched the 7th inning in relief.
