Tigrio Huerta and
Silvio Gkizas brace's powered No. 9 Loras College to a dominant 9-0 win over Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday in the Rock Bowl.
Huerta opened up the scoring in the 8th minute with his 5th goal of the season coming by way of penalty kick to put the Duhawks up 1-0.
Kody Rife found
Mark Broderick in stride to give him his fifth goal of the season, and Loras the 2-0 lead.
In the 28th minute
Zeke Kyoore headed in his third goal of the season thanks to the free kick sent by
Colton Bachar.
Alex Herrera scored his first goal of the season in the 37th minute to put Loras up 4-0.
Gkizas scored his second goal of the season in the 41st minute. Just one minute later Gzikas tallied his third goal of the season sending the ball to the top right corner of the net to bring push the Duhawks lead to 6-0.
Huerta found his second goal of the night in the 51st minute thanks to the quick give-and-go from Gzikas. Kucaba slotted a beautiful free kick from twenty-five yards out to push the lead to 8-0.
Leo Bellingeri scored the final goal of the night thanks to the cross sent by
Christian Giacotto. The last time the Loras College men's soccer team scored 9 goals was in 2016 against Coe College.
Loras will face non-conference opponent University of Wisconsin - Platteville on Wednesday, Sept. 25. First kick is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
