Duhawks Drop Top-25 Battle to Wheaton

September 21, 2019 (Duhawks.com) - The Loras College women's soccer team were defeated by No. 5 Wheaton College Saturday evening in the Rock Bowl. 

Thunder forward Molly Thorne scored in the 10th minute thanks to the assist from Sara Bakke to put Wheaton up 1-0. Wheaton scored in the 74th minute via own goal while Aeva Graber added the third in the 78th minute to win 3-0. 

Duhawk keeper Kaylee Coble finished with a season high nine saves in today's contest.

Loras best shot of the night came from Brynn Jacobi in the 24th minute, but it was saved by the Thunder keeper in the center of the net. The Duhawks registered 9 shots with four being on goal. 

Loras will travel to Platteville, Wis. to face non-conference opponent UW-Platteville on Thursday, Sept. 26. First kick is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
