Jan. 21, 2021 – For the first time in nearly ten years, the Loras College men's golf team is ranked among the top-25 teams in Division III according to GolfStat, entering the spring championship season as the No. 18 team.
The Duhawks, led by second year head coach
Cole Sondgeroth, competed in four tournaments during the fall, highlighted by a second place team finish at the Luther College Triangular on Oct. 4, 2020. The team closed out the season with its season-best round of 315 (+27) at the Central College Fall Classic on Oct. 12-13 and
Jake Peiser tallied his season-best round at the Loras Fall Invite, winning the tournament with a score of 71 (E).
Six American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) schools were represented in the rankings with Nebraska Wesleyan University ranking sixth, Luther coming in ranked 15th, the University of Dubuque ranked 17th, and Central College ranked 19th. Wartburg College ranked 21st and Coe College rounded out the rankings in 23rd.
The Duhawks look to begin the spring season on Mar. 13-14 at Millikin University. The 2020-21 A-R-C Championship is scheduled for Apr. 29-May 1, hosted by Central at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City.
