Swim and Dive Wrap Up Weekend at Nebraska Wesleyan

LINCOLN, Neb. (Nov. 6, 2021) – The Loras College swim and dive teams were back in action at the Weary Natatorium on the campus of Nebraska Wesleyan University Saturday morning as the Duhawks wrapped up a weekend of American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) competition against the Prairie Wolves.

Taylor Hrabak started off the scoring for the women, earning four points for her second place finish in the 1650 yard freestyle. Austin Jorgensen earned three points and a third place finish in the event for the men. Molly Stohmeyer followed up with a strong finish in the women's 200 yard freestlyle, placing second with a time of 2:10.25. For the men, Jacob Priewe and Noah James combined for five points in the 200 yard freestyle.

Brad LaGrange earned himself a third place finish in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 23.45. In the women's 400 yard IM, Elli Stine finished with a time of 5:57.90, earning a second place finish for the event.

Zach Nelson and Christopher Grunke totaled for 5 points in the 200 men's yard butterfly. Brad LaGrange earned a first place finish for the men in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 51.07. The women totaled for 6 points in the 200 yard backstroke. The men totaled seven, with four coming from Jon Broas' second place finish.

Molly Strohmeyer earned a first place finish for the women's side in the 500 yard freestyle. Bobby Solis finished in third for the men's 500 yard freestyle. The women took places second through fourth in the 200 yard breaststroke with Artie Kerchmar leading the group with a time of 2:54.44. To finish the meet, the women's 400 yard freestyle relay team consisting of Amber Forbort, Molly Strohmeyer, Ann Quinn, and Taylor Hrabak took second place with a time of 4:07.83.

The Duhawks finished out the weekend against the Prairie Wolves with the men falling 156-43, and the women 111-51. The Duhawks will take on Simpson College next in Dubuque, Iowa on Nov. 19 at 6:00 PM at San Jose Pool.
