Mar. 10, 2021 – The Loras College women's lacrosse team (2-1) saw another record-setting performance for the second-straight game on Wednesday with senior Katlynne Wolf improving on her program-leading mark as the single-game assist leader as the Duhawks rolled to a dominant 21-8 win against Edgewood College (0-2).

Marianne Gleason gave the Duhawks possession to start the game off the opening draw and Clare Brunn added the first goal of the game off an assist from Erin Conley just over a minute into play. Edgewood tied it up at the 25:27 mark but Conley quickly gave Loras back the lead a minute later. The Eagles continued to challenge back, winning the following draw and taking it straight to the net to tie the game one more time, but a goal by Brunn off of one of soon to be many assists from Katlynne Wolf ignited a four-goal run to put Loras ahead 6-2 with 12:38 left in the half. Edgewood made their next possession count, converting to a goal, but Gleason, Brunn, Pearl Mueller and Hannah Medina found the rhythm for the Duhawks on offense to post four goals in the final seven minutes to lead 10-3 at the half.

The wind started to pick up at halftime and coming out of the break, both teams face a new challenge:  battling gusting winds and pouring rain throughout the second half. The Duhawks remained resilient and the elements did not deter the offense, as Mueller extended Loras' lead, 11-3, in the opening minute. Conley kept it going with back-to-back goals but the Eagles fired back two of their own while a player up off a Loras yellow card with 22:32 left to play. Back at full strength not long after, Wolf connected with Brunn for the second time in the game to put the Duhawks ahead 16-6 but Edgewood added another to cut the lead to nine with 15:48 remaining. Just over a minute later, a goal by Gleason sparked a five-goal run for Loras as the Duhawks commanded the second half of the period and secure the first home field win of the 2021 season.

Brunn led the team with seven goals and Wolf had seven assists, breaking her own previous single-game record (5). Gleason had a team-high nine draw controls, good for eighth all-time for single game records. She added six goals and she, Leah Hood and Lydia Phelps all had four ground balls each. Hood had a team-high four caused turnovers and Phelps recorded ten saves.

The Duhawks are back in action for a nonconference game on Thursday, Mar. 18 at Concordia University Chicago. Game time in River Forest, Ill. is set for 2 P.M.
