HARTLAND, Wis. (Mar. 13, 2021) – The Loras College men's tennis team (3-3) made swift work against the Wisconsin Lutheran College (1-2) Warriors on Saturday as the Duhawks picked up a 9-0 sweep in the nonconference matchup.
Riley Collins and
Connor Pivnicka got things rolling for Loras at No. 3 doubles, defeating Stu Woller and Josh Hennen, 8-0.
Kevin Blomquist and Thomas Kampmeier added an 8-2 win at the No. 1 position against Matt Bass and Quinn Wedel before
Tommy Linkenheld and
Konnor Barth completed the sweep with an 8-2 win at the No. 2 match against Bryce Halvorsen and Jon Kannenberg.
Eian Coad scored the first win of singles play at the No. 6 position, defeating Hennen 6-0, 6-0 and Blomquist took down Bass at No. 1, 6-2, 6-0.
Joe Schneider went 6-2, 6-1 against Halvorsen at No. 4 singles to clinch the win and Linkenheld defeated Ryan Crick 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Collins defeated Wedel 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles and Barth added the finishing touch with a win at the No. 5 position against Kannenberg, 6-0, 6-0.
The Duhawks will play one more nonconference matchup before kicking off American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) play on Tuesday, Mar. 16 against Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
