LINCOLN, Neb. (Mar. 21, 2021) – Extending its win streak to four matches, the Loras College men's tennis team (6-3, 2-0 A-R-C) moved to 2-0 in American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) action on Sunday with a 7-2 win against Nebraska Wesleyan University (1-1, 1-1 A-R-C).
The Duhawks swept doubles action with an 8-7 win at No. 1 for
Kevin Blomquist and
Thomas Kampmier against Ryan Carey and Max Rademacher, an 8-5 win for
Tommy Linkenheld and
Konnor Barth against Will Olson and Vinh Le at the No. 2 spot, and an 8-3 win for
Riley Collins and
Connor Pivnicka at No. 3 against Cole Lohoefener and Hayden Retzlaff. The Prairie Wolves claimed the No. 1 and 4 matches in singles play but the Duhawks held them off to win the rest and remain perfect in conference play. Collins defeated Rademacher 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Linkenheld added a 6-2, 6-2 win against Olson at No. 3.
Eian Coad won his match at No. 6 against Retzlaff, 6-0, 6-2 and
Konnor Barth took the No. 5 match by walkover.
Loras will have nearly a month off from conference action, returning to the courts on Apr. 20 to host crosstown rival the University of Dubuque. Matches at the Tucker Tennis Courts are set to begin at 3:30 P.M.
