CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Apr. 16, 2021) - Bolstered by a heavy first half attack, the Loras College men's soccer team (5-0-2, 5-0-2 A-R-C) soared by the Coe College Kohawks (0-6-0, 0-6-0 A-R-C) by an eight goal differential. Sophomore forward Patrick Clancy continued his red-hot season for the Duhawks, scoring a career-high three goals in the match for his first career hat trick.

Clancy took off immediately in the match for the Duhawks, notching his first two goals of the night within the first ten minutes of the match. The first goal came in just the second minute on an assist from Jared Block. In the tenth minute, Clancy gave Loras a 2-0 lead on an unassisted goal that was shortly followed by a red card to Coe's Brayden Koch in the 11th minute.

After Coe scored their only goal of the match in the 14th minute playing with only ten men on the field, Loras capitalized and put the pressure back on goalkeeper Isaac Keppler with Kyler Donovan posting his second goal of the season in the 19th minute with Block getting his second assist of the match.

Tigrio Huerta added an unassisted goal in the 24th minute that was quickly followed up with Michael Brandt scoring his first goal of the season on an assist from Luke Baker in the 34th minute.

After posting his first career hat trick last week against Buena Vista University, Reed Miklavcic earned American Rivers Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and continued to show his strength on the ball in the 42nd minute to give the Duhawks their sixth goal of the first half to go into the locker room with a 6-1 advantage over the Kohawks.

Brandt netted his second goal of the season, and second of the match, in the 46th minute of the match on a pass from Kevin Kucaba for his first assist of the night.

Three minutes later, Clancy completed the hat trick in the 49th minute on an assisted pass from Kucaba for his third goal of the night and Kucaba's second assist of the match to put the Duhawks up 8-1.

Sebastian Onofre Rolon netted his first goal of the season for Loras in the 68th minute to solidify the 9-1 victory over the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) foe and give the Duhawks their fifth win of the year.

The Duhawks blasted the Coe goalkeepers with 28 total shots and 16 on goal. Clancy took five shots on the night, all five on net with three finding the back of the net for three goals on the night. Brandt followed with a career-high two goals in the match while Huerta, Donovan, Onofre Rolon and Miklavcic each added one apiece.

Seth Kurzynski made the start in goal for the Duhawks, playing 68 minutes and facing only one shot on goal all night that went in for the Kohawks' lone goal of the match. Thomas Roche closed out the game in net playing the final 22 minutes.

Loras is back in action on Sunday, Apr. 25 as they take on the Simpson College Storm in Indianola, Iowa. The match is slated to begin at 4:30 PM at Buxton Stadium.
