Apr. 25, 2021 – Wrapping up a busy three-match weekend, the Loras College men's tennis team (9-5, 4-2 A-R-C) dropped an 8-1 decision to the Central College Dutch (6-2, 6-2 A-R-C) at the Tucker Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon.
The Dutch took a 3-0 lead to start doubles play, despite a hard-fought 8-6 matchup at the No. 1 match for
Kevin Blomquist and
Thomas Kampmier, and took the first two singles matches at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions to clinch the win. Blomquist came back for the Duhawks to post a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles against William Isiminger but it was not enough as Central came away with the other three matches for the win.
The Duhawks will have a few days off before wrapping up the final two matches of the regular season Loras will travel to Decorah, Iowa on Wednesday, Apr. 28 to play Luther College before hosting the season finale against Wartburg College on Thursday, Apr. 29.
