No. 2 Duhawks Continue Momentum at Last Chance Qualifier

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (May 20, 2021) – Less than a week removed from an outstanding display at the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Championship, the No. 2-ranked Loras College women's track and field team kept the momentum going to close out the final meet before the NCAA Division III National Championship with improved and new qualifying marks at the Augustana College Twilight Last Chance Meet on Thursday.

Marion Edwards made a significant jump on the national list, moving up from 22nd to fifth in Division III after winning the 100-meter dash in 11.99, good for third all-time for the Duhawks. Competing in her first outdoor last chance meet of her career, Grace Alley had a personal-best leap of 11.67 meters, putting her third all-time and 14th in Division III. Michelle Budden won the hammer throw with a personal-best 53.32 meters, improving on her second-ranked all-time mark and moving her up to eighth in Division III.

The 4-by-100-meter relay team of Terrianna Black, Alyssa Pfadenhauer, Stevie Lambe and Kelly Kohlhof won the race in 47.17 and the 4-by-400-meter relay team of Lambe, Edwards, Pfadenhauer and Merryl Green completed the relay sweep, winning in 3:46.16.

The Duhawks now await the release of the final qualifying list for the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championship on May 27-29 in Greensboro, N.C.
