2025-26 Indoor Track and Field Season Preview

December 4, 2025

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College men's and women's track and field teams open the 2025–26 indoor season this weekend as the Duhawks travel to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh for the Oshkosh Multi on Friday, Dec. 5, and Saturday, Dec. 6.

The women aim to build on last season's success, winning a fourth straight American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) indoor title last year and placing fourth at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships for the program's 10th consecutive podium finish. The men are coming off a strong year as well, finishing third at the 2024–25 A-R-C Indoor Championships. Nationally, Loras qualified 10 individuals and three relay teams for last season's NCAA Indoor Championships in Rochester, N.Y.

"I am excited to get the season started," head coach Logan Stroman said. "Our cross-country team set the tone for the track and field season. We have a strong senior class on both the men's and women's teams, and we are also excited for our new Duhawks to get off to a great start."

Stroman said that energy has carried into training. "The energy at practice this week has been great. I think they are just ready to show off all the hard work they have put in this fall."

On the women's side, Loras returns senior Caitlyn Cox, one of the top throwers in Division III. Cox was the national runner-up in the weight throw last season and is the three-time defending American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) champion in the event. She enters the year looking to complete a sweep of the weight throw with a fourth conference title. Sophomore Maddie Mucci, the 2024 A-R-C Indoor Women's Rookie of the Year, looks to build on a breakout season after finishing ranked No. 21 nationally in the triple jump. First-year Keelee Leitzen, the 2024 A-R-C women's cross country champion and 2025 NCAA Division III national qualifier, is expected to make an immediate impact on the track.

The men's team is led by senior thrower DreAnthony Jackson, who looks to build on his All-American showing in the shot put last season. Senior distance standout Isaac Bourne, fresh off an All-American cross country finish, is targeting the indoor 5,000-meter school record after breaking the outdoor mark last spring. The Duhawks also return All-Americans Ian Fagan, Matt Kruse and Zeke Irving from last year's 4x400-meter relay squad that set the school record during the outdoor season and are looking to build on that momentum. First-year jumpers Steve Edwards and Tre'jon Igess are expected to make early contributions.

Loras opens competition Friday in Oshkosh with the multi events before sprinters and jumpers take the track Saturday. Distance runners and throwers will also compete Saturday at the Frigid Bee Invite hosted by St. Ambrose and the Mercer Moco Challenge at the University of Dubuque.
