CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Caitlyn Cox and the Loras College women's sprint medley relay team earned American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Athlete of the Week honors following standout performances at the Drake Relays.
Cox was named both the conference's Female Athlete of the Week and Women's Field Athlete of the Week after a record-breaking showing in the hammer throw. Competing in the college and university division against 20 athletes from Divisions I, II and III, she placed fifth overall and was the top Division III finisher. Her throw of 57.84 meters set a new personal best, surpassed her previous school record and currently ranks second in Division III this season.
The sprint medley relay team of Katie Flynn, Layla Hughes, Rosie Flynn and Keelee Leitzen captured a Drake Relays title, finishing first in a field of 15 teams with a time of 4:01.33. The mark also established a new school record.
