Loras Relay Squad Highlights Three-Meet Weekend

WAVERLY, Iowa – Select members of the Loras College track and field teams competed at the Wartburg Outdoor Qualifier, UW-La Crosse Uncaged Eagle Open and University of St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite across Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9.

Leading the way for the Duhawks was the women's 4x400-meter relay team of Katie Flynn, Keelee Leitzen, Layla Hughes and Rosie Flynn, which finished second at the Wartburg Outdoor Qualifier with a season-best time of 3:45.79. The mark also ranks 11th in Division III this season.

Savannah Davis added a personal-best performance in the 400-meter dash, placing third with a time of 1:00.39.

The throws squad also posted strong performances as Carter Allen, DreAnthony Jackson and Caitlyn Cox each recorded first-place finishes. Allen claimed titles in both the discus and hammer throw with marks of 50.22 meters and 54.88 meters, respectively. Jackson won the shot put with a mark of 17.36 meters, while Cox added a victory in the hammer throw with a toss of 53.06 meters.

Up Next: Select Duhawks will compete at the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier on Wednesday, May 13 and Thursday, May 14 in Rock Island.
