CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Two Duhawks earned American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Athlete of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
In track and field,
Caitlyn Cox earned women's Field Athlete of the Week honors after winning the weight throw at the University of Dubuque Moco Mercer Challenge with a mark of 18.97 meters. This marks a new facility record in addition to topping the Division III indoor qualifying list.
The track and field teams will compete next at the Bumble Rumble hosted by St. Ambrose University on Saturday, Jan. 17.
In wrestling,
Dustin Bohren earned Athlete of the Week recognition after helping the Duhawks record a 2-1 finish at the UW-Eau Claire Super Quad. Against the No. 1 team in the country, Bohren took down the No. 13-ranked Nick Alexander of Augsburg University at 174 lbs. with a 5-0 decision. The senior from Bettendorf, Iowa got another decision win, this time by a score of 4-1 over Preston Carlisle of UW-Eau Claire. Bohren ended his night with a fall in 4:20 over No.18 Jermaine Butler of No. 6-ranked UW-Whitewater.
Men's wrestling is back in action on Thursday, Dec. 11, for Throwback Night against Cornell College. Wresting begins at 7 p.m. from the Fieldhouse on the campus of Loras College.
