May 7, 2021 – Continuing to make movement on the program's top-ten list, the No. 3-ranked Loras College women's track and field team hosted the Dr. Tucker Open on Friday and was able to preview some of the conference competition it will see in a week at the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Championship while celebrating personal bests, individual champions and its senior class inside the Rock Bowl.
Alyssa Pfadenhauer continued to tear up the track in the 400-meter dash, winning the race in a time of 55.53 seconds, just 0.02 seconds off the school record but good for third nationally. Senior
Terrianna Black won the long jump (5.58 meters) and 100-meter dash in 12.17 seconds, ranking her 19th nationally in the event.
Elayna Bahl won the 100-meter hurdles (14.64 seconds), leading senior
Bailey Vance across the line in second (15.30 seconds) and also took the title in the high jump (1.58 meters) as well as the 400-meter hurdles (1:04.28) and
Marion Edwards' win in the 200-meter dash (24.94 seconds) ranks her 15th in Division III and fifth on Loras' all-time list.
Merryl Green posted a top-three finish in the 400-meter hurdles, placing third (1:07.32). Senior
Courtney Schnoor added a win in the javelin, throwing 35.61 meters, and finished third in the shot put with a heave of heave of 12.92 meters, ranking her eighth all-time and senior
Carly Fischer threw a personal best in the discus, placing second with a throw of 44.06 meters which lands her ninth in program history and nationally.
Kaylee Osterberger led three teammates for a 1-4 finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:19.74 followed by sister
Ellie Osterberger (2:22.60),
Kassie Rosenbum (2:23.03) and Alexis Reisberg (2:26.54). Rosenbum also added a win in the 1,500-meter run with a personal-best time of 4:39.64 to rank seventh all-time. and
Hannah Insko added a second-place finish with a personal best in the pole vault, clearing 2.95 meters and senior
Michelle Budden placed second in the hammer throw with a toss of 49.48 meters. The 4-by-400-meter relay team of
Sam Heavlin, Green and the Osterberger twins placed second with a time of 4:05.45.
The Duhawks now turn their attention to the A-R-C Championship, hosted by the University of Dubuque, beginning May 14.
