DECORAH, Iowa (Sept. 14, 2021) – Facing one of its toughest competitors of the season early, the Loras College women's tennis team (0-2, 0-2 A-R-C) fell at the hands of defending American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) champion and NCAA Division III tournament qualifier Luther College (3-1, 2-0 A-R-C) on Tuesday.
The Norse took control early with the doubles sweep and carried the momentum into singles action. At No. 1 singles,
Lauren Diiulio took two sets against three-time All-Conference performer Shelby Cook but fell 6-2, 6-0 and
Isabel Schwabe put up a fight at No. 2 singles, winning three games in her opening set against Natalia Smith but came up short in a 6-3, 6-2 decision. Luther held on in each match, coming away with a 9-0 win.
The Duhawks head home for their next match and host the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at the Tucker Tennis Courts on Saturday, Sept. 18. Matches begin at 3:30 P.M.
