MOORHEAD, Minn. (Sept. 5, 2021) - Playing in their third game in just five days time, the Loras College men's soccer team (2-0-1, 0-0-0 A-R-C) made the nearly eight hour drive north to Moorhead, Minn. to take on the Cobbers from Concordia College (2-1-0, 0-0-0 MIAC). A three goal performance by junior forward
Patrick Clancy sent the Duhawks soaring over the Cobbers to tally their second win of the weekend.
Clancy wasted no time to put the Duhawks on the board, netting his first goal of the day in the 12th minute on a perfectly placed ball from
Kyler Donovan to put Loras up 1-0.
Just three minutes later in the 15th minute,
Michael Brandt charged down the field and fed a great ball to Clancy to tuck in the back of the net past Concordia goalkeeper Erick Torres, taking a 2-0 advantage going into the locker room at half time.
Nearly midway through the second half in the 67th minute, Clancy rifled another shot past Torres for his third goal of the game and solidify the 3-0 win.
Clancy's three goals mark his second career hat trick in the purple and gold, bringing his total on the season to five in the last two games. Donovan's assist comes as his second on the season while Brandt notched his first. Senior goalkeeper
Seth Kurzynski recorded his first clean sheet of the season, turning away all five shots on goal he faced in his 90 minutes in net.
The Duhawks have a three day break in action before heading to Chicago, Ill. on Sept. 8 to take on College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin oppenent North Park University. The game is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 PM.
