Jan. 29, 2022 – Led by a new national leading mark in the 4-by-400-meter relay by

Elayna Bahl,
Marion Edwards and
Alyssa Pfadenhauer and six event wins, the No. 2-ranked Loras College women's track and field team scored the team title at the Spartan Invitational, hosted by the University of Dubuque on Saturday.
The relay set the third-fastest time on Loras' all-time list, running 3:53.14, dropping three seconds off its previous season-best and winning the event by 14 seconds. The Duhawks also added two more nationally-ranked performances in the 400-meter dash and 800-meter run. Edwards is seventh in Division III in the 400-meter dash, posting the fifth-fastest time in Loras history to win the race by more than four seconds in 58.53 and Pfadenhauer went sub-eight seconds in the 60-meter dash, placing second with a time of 7.98, and won the 800-meter run in 2:15.61, good for ninth in Division III.
Bahl won the 60-meter hurdles in 9.09 and
Grace Alley added a win in the triple jump, going 11.79 meters.
Brianna Renner came away with the title in the mile run, winning by just over two seconds in 5:26.27.
Sara Hoskins tied for first in the high jump, clearing 1.56 meters and
Alexis Riesberg added a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter run (11:19.00). In the throws,
Taylor Flaig finished third in the weight throw, tossing 15.39 meters.
The Duhawks finished first of eight teams with 161 points, followed by Dubuque in second with 137 points. The University of Wisconsin-Platteville placed third with 75 points.
The Duhawks' next meet is set for Saturday, Feb. 5 at Wartburg College.
