AMES, Iowa (Oct. 11, 2022) – Loras College's women's golf team took to the course for the final time in the fall 2022 season as three Duhawk student-athletes traveled to Ames for the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Championship meet this past weekend.
With only three competitors, the Duhawks were not eligible to challenge for team points. The Central College Dutch claimed the team championship for the 11
th time in their program's history and earned the A-R-C's automatic berth into the NCAA Division III National Championship next May.
Gabrielle Langlois lead the Duhawk trio at the end of three rounds at the Ames Golf and Country Club. Langlois finished 28
th overall in the individual standings at 268 total strokes. Her best round of the weekend came in round one on Saturday, shooting an 83 to place inside the top 15 after day one.
Brianna Barton was next in line for the Duhawks as her first-round score of 98 was also her best of the weekend. She place two spots ahead of
Kathleen Looney, who dropped 10 strokes and eight strokes off her round-one score to conclude the weekend on a high-note.
The A-R-C Championship ends the first fall season for the Duhawks under the guidance of head coach
Matt Romer. The spring schedule for both the men's and women's teams will be announced later in the academic year.
