STORM LAKE, Iowa (Oct. 8, 2022) – The Loras College women's tennis team (7-4, 3-3 A-R-C) earned its third-straight American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) victory on Saturday, cruising to a 9-0 victory against the Buena Vista University Beavers (1-12, 1-7 A-R-C).
Lauren Diiulio and
Isabel Schwabe defeated Haley Meseck and Alexis McGinnis, 8-1, at No. 1 doubles for their fifth-straight win this season, followed by
Sara Backus and
Dorothy Deans scoring an 8-0 win at No. 2 against Madison McGaffin and Taylor Fritz and
Caroline Hutchinson and
Leia Papanicholas defeated Abigail King and Jenny Almanza, 8-0, at the No. 3 spot.
Schwabe defeated McGinnis, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 1 singles and Diiulio won her sixth-straight match at No. 2 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 win against McGaffin. Backus posted a 6-0, 6-0 sweep against Meseck at No. 3 and
Clair Moore defeated King 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
Leia Papanicholas defeated Almanza 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 singles and Hutchinson finished the afternoon with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 6 position.
The Duhwaks continue American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) play on Sunday, Oct. 9 at Nebraska Wesleyan University.
