Feb. 18, 2022 – Competing one last time before the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Indoor Championship beginning Feb. 25, the No. 2-ranked Loras College men's track and field team left the University of Dubuque Sol Butler Classic with a team title, a pair of event wins, a school record for Ryan Harvey in the mile and four all-time top-ten performances as the Duhawks continued to build on their season-long success as championship season nears.

Harvey led the way in the mile for a pair of top-ten performances for the Duhawks as the freshman won the event in 4:10.43, breaking his own school record he set earlier in the season and ranking tenth in the nation in addition to a new facility record which he had previously held. Wyatt Kelly had the race of his life, running 4:12.16 for a more than four-second improvement that moves him into third in Loras history and 19th nationally.

Ryan Rogers finished second in the 60-meter hurdles, running 8.36 seconds, and Josh Smith finished second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.91. The Duhawks' 4-by-200-meter relay of Frank Day, Matt Franz, DJ Almada and Kyle Leatherman finished second in the event with a time of 1:37.35. Cade Messer added a third-place finish in the 3,00-meter run with a time of 8:59.13. The 4-by-400-meter relay team of Smith, Carter Oberfoell, Will Kieffer and Mike Jasa turned in the fastest time of the night, closing out the meet with a win and a time of 3:19.58.

In the field events, Holden Murphy launched the seventh-farthest toss in program history in the weight throw, going 16.56 meters to finish second in the event. Zac Couture finished third in the shot put with a heave of 14.01 meters and Ray Venditti was the runner-up in the pole vault, clearing 4.35 meters to tie for tenth in program history.
