Mar. 30, 2022 – The Loras College men's tennis team (9-6, 3-1 A-R-C) cruised to its third-straight American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) victory on Wednesday against the University of Dubuque (3-9, 0-3 A-R-C) as the Duhawks took the crosstown match, 7-2, inside the Chlapatay Wellness and Recreation Center.
The Duhawks swept doubles action with
Tommy Linkenheld and
Konnor Barth defeating Stefan Zrnic and Josh Husemann, 8-2, at the No. 1 position,
Kevin Blomquist and
Joe Schneider winning the No. 2 match against Brady McIntyre and Zach Norman, 8-3, and
Kareem Kassas and
Sean Gelski taking down Ryan Kiddle and Dawson Freese, 8-2, at No. 3. The Spartans took the No. 1 and 2 singles matches to get on the scorecard but the Duhawks kept rolling to win out and take the match. Linkenheld defeated Kiddle, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles and Kassas scored a 6-2, 6-1 win against Husemann at No. 4. Barth defeated Freese with a pair of 6-0 sweeps and
Eian Coad tallied a 6-3, 6-1 win against McIntyre at No. 6 to close out the match.
The Duhawks have nearly a month until their next match, hosting Central College and Simpson College on Saturday, Apr. 23 in A-R-C action. Match play begins at 10:00 A.M. against the Dutch with the match against the Storm following at 1:00 P.M.
