DE PERE, Wis. (Mar. 5, 2022) – The Loras College men's tennis team (3-6) opened their Wisconsin weekend trip with a win against St. Norbert College (1-3) on Saturday, defeating the Green Knights, 7-2.
Wins for
Konnor Barth and
Tommy Linkenheld at the No. 2 spot and
Nolan Teubel and
Sean Gelski at No. 3 gave Loras a 2-1 lead after doubles action. The No. 2 pair defeated David Vandenberg and Charlie Vandermillen, 8-4, and the No. 3 duo defeated Porter Beilfuss and Anthony Michels, 8-2. The Green Knights only took one singles match as the Duhawks cruised to victory.
Thomas Kampmier defeated Michael Stanaszak, 7-5, 3-6, 10-5 at the No. 1 spot and
Kevin Blomquist added a 6-1, 6-3 win against Joe Pellechia at No. 2.
Kareem Kassas won his match against Michels, 6-4, 7-6, at No. 4 and Barth won his match at No. 5 against Vandermillen 6-0, 6-0.
Eian Coad added the final win of the day at No. 6 against Vandenberg, rebounding from a 2-6 loss in the first set to take the next two 6-2, 10-7.
The Duhawks have a quick turnaround on Sunday, Mar. 6 with a match against Wisconsin Lutheran at 9:00 A.M.
