Creasy's Leap Headlines No. 2 Duhawks' Success at Easter Midweek Meet

Apr. 13, 2022 – Led by two of the best performances in Division III this season by the 4-by-100-meter relay and freshman Harmony Creasy in the triple jump, the No. 2 Loras College women's track and field team conquered freezing rain showers and blustery early spring weather throughout the afternoon inside the Rock Bowl on Wednesday at the Loras Easter Midweek Meet.

The 4-by-100-meter relay of Alyssa Pfadenhauer, Kelly Kohlhof, Stevie Lambe and Marion Edwards started the meet off with a win, running 47.45 seconds to move up to No. 3 in the nation this season and ties for fifth in program history. Elayna Bahl added a win in the 100-meter hurdles, running 14.58 to rank 15th nationally, and Merryl Green finished third with a time of 15.97. Green also finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.14. Marianne Gleason led the Duhawks in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.90 followed by Frankie Chaidez in second (2:27.01) and Allison Till in third (2:52.91).

Edwards and Lambe finished second and third, respectively, with Edwards clocking a 12.37 and Lambe running 12.47 and Pfadenhauer won the 200-meter dash, running 24.72 to move into No. 4 in program history and tied for fourth in Division III this season. Brianna Renner finished second in the 5,000-meter run, running 17:57.43 to rank tenth in program history.

In the field events, Taylor Flaig finished second in the discus, throwing 39.26 meters, and hammer throw (44.98 meters) while Ashleigh Dierking finished second in the javelin, throwing 32.40 meters. To go with her success on the track, Bahl added a second-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.55 meters and De'ja Austin-Cherry went 5.06 meters in the long jump to place third and added a second-place finish in the triple jump, going 11.30 meters. Creasy capped off the meet with fireworks, leaping 12.04 meters to win the event and put herself into Loras' all-time list at No. 3. Her jump also sits third in Division III this season as she become the third Duhawk this season to post a Division III top-ten mark in the event, joining Grace Alley (No. 4) and Austin-Cherry (No. 10).

The Duhawks will compete at Augustana College on Saturday, Apr. 23 at the Meet of Champions.
