WAVERLY, Iowa (May 1, 2022) – The Loras College men's tennis team (10-9, 4-4 A-R-C) closed out the regular season on the road at Wartburg College (24-8, 6-2 A-R-C) on Sunday and saw junior Eian Coad secure his tenth-straight win this season at the No. 6 singles position in a 7-2 loss to the Knights.

The Knights took the early lead in doubles, pulling ahead 3-0, and secured four more wins in singles play to lock up the match. Konnor Barth posted a 6-2, 7-6 win against Kyle Sehlin at the No. 5 spot for one of two wins for the Duhawks and Coad added a 6-2, 6-4 victory against Nile Petersen, continuing his dominant play at the No. 6 spot. Coad is now 15-1 on the season while Barth is right behind at 10-3, both carrying momentum heading into the conference tournament.

The Duhawks own the No. 5-seed for the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Tournament and will travel to play No. 4-seed Central College on Tuesday, May 3 in the quarterfinals round. The semifinal match is set for Friday, May 6 at the No. 1 seed and conference-champion Luther College and the championship takes place on Saturday, May 7 in Decorah with the Winona, Minn. serving as the inclement weather venue. The winner of the league's automatic qualifier tournament receives a bid to the NCAA Division III tournament May 23 through May 28 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
