May 10, 2022 – Five top-ten performances and a new addition to the top-20 on Saturday helped the Loras College men's track and field team jump into the top-25 in the Week 7 installment of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Top-25 Ratings Index on Tuesday as the Duhawks checked in at No. 14 just days away from the 2022 American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Championship.

Another monumental performance for Mike Jasa gave the Duhawks a No. 1 mark in the 800-meter run as the Fairfax native went sub-1:50 for the first time outdoors and ran the 12th-fastest time in Division III history in 1:48.70 to take over the national lead. Carter Oberfoell had a lifetime-best race in the event as well, going under Jasa's previous 1:50.00 school record with a 1:49.57 for his first sub-1:50 race of his career. Ryan Harvey took down the school-record in the 1,500-meter run and moved up to No. 10 in Division III this season with a time of 3:47.53, and Matt Bandy cleared 2.04 meters in the high jump to rank 13th in the nation this season and fourth on Loras' all-time list. The 4-by-400-meter relay of Josh Smith, Ted Kruse, Oberfoell and Jasa sit fourth with a time of 3:13.58, run a week prior at the Drake Relays and Holden Murphy ranks seventh in the nation in the discus, throwing 50.88 meters.

Rowan University holds the No. 1 spot followed by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Hardin-Simmons University and John Carroll University in the top-five. The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse ranks sixth followed by Pomona-Pitzer College in seventh and the University of Wisconsin-Stout in eighth. Carnegie Mellon University and McMurry University round out the top-ten in ninth and tenth, respectively.

The University of Dubuque ranked 12th and Wartburg College ranked 13th, previewing a close battle for the conference championship as three A-R-C teams are neck and neck in the national standings.

The 2022 A-R-C Championship begins on Thursday, May 12 with the decathlon followed by field events beginning Friday at 1 P.M. and running events at 2:30 P.M. The championship wraps up Saturday with the first events set to begin at 10 A.M.
