May 10, 2022 – The Loras College women's track and field team enters the 2022 American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Championship as the No. 2-ranked team in Division III, according to the latest release of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Top-25 Ratings Index, announced on Tuesday. The ranking is bolstered by 11 top-20 marks in the nation this season.
The Duhawks have their sights set on their second-straight A-R-C outdoor title and look to do so on their home track as Loras hosts this year's meet. In its final tune-up on Saturday, the Duhawks saw another school record fall for
Kassie Parker as the junior ran the sixth-fastest time in Division III this season in the 1,500-meter run (4:27.65). Parker also ranks No. 1 in the 10,000-meter run (33:03.61) and second in the 5,000-meter run (16:09.66).
Alyssa Pfadenhauer is ranked top-20 in a pair of events this season with the fourth-fastest 400-meter dash time (55.60) and 12th in the 800-meter run (2:11.81) in addition to her efforts on both Loras' No. 1-ranked 4-by-100-meter relay with
Elayna Bahl,
Marion Edwards and
Stevie Lambe, running 46.42, and the No. 2-ranked 4-by-400-meter relay with the same four running 3:46.01. Lambe is ranked 13th in the 400-meter dash (56.38) and Bahl is sixth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:01.48).
Grace Alley owns three top-20 marks of her own, sitting eighth in the high jump (1.69 meters), 11th in the triple jump (11.98 meters) and fourth in the heptathlon (4,938 points). She joins
Harmony Creasy who is ranked ninth in the triple jump in her first collegiate outdoor season with a leap of 12.04 meters.
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse holds the No. 1 spot with Johns Hopkins University checking in at third behind the Duhawks and Washington University in St. Louis coming in at No. 4. SUNY-Geneseo ranks fifth and Worchester Polytechnic Institute sits sixth, followed by Rochester University and fellow A-R-C program Wartburg College in seventh and eighth, respectively. Trine University and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville round out the top-ten in ninth and tenth.
Nebraska Wesleyan University came in at No. 12 and the University of Dubuque ranked 15th as the A-R-C Championship meet will boast four top-25 teams.
The 2022 A-R-C Championship begins on Thursday, May 12 with the heptathlon followed by field events beginning Friday at 1 P.M. and running events at 2:30 P.M. The championship wraps up Saturday with the first events set to begin at 10 A.M.
