Men's Track and Field Ranked 22nd by USTFCCCA

May 17, 2022 – The Loras College men's track and field team is ranked No. 22 in the Week 8 installment of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III Top-25 Ratings Index following a third-place finish at the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Championship and with one week left before competing at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championship.

The Duhawks currently own four top-ten ranked marks and eight top-20 performances. Mike Jasa leads the way with the No. 1 time in the nation in the 800-meter run (1:48.70) and ranked 19th in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:47.78. Carter Oberfoell ranks eighth in the 800-meter run, running 1:49.57 and both he and Jasa along with Josh Smith and Ted Kruse rank ninth in the 4-by-400-meter relay with a time of 3:13.58. Ryan Harvey sits 18th in the 1,500-meter run (3:47.53) and Matt Bandy is tied for 16th in the high jump (2.04 meters) while Ryan Rogers sits 19th in the decathlon with 6,258 points. Holden Murphy ranks ninth in the discus with a toss of 50.88 meters.

Rowan University and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire maintained their spots at No. 1 and 2, respectively, while Wartburg College moved up to No. 3 and John Carroll University moved to No. 4. The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse rank fifth and sixth followed by Pomona-Pitzer in seventh and Hardin-Simmons University in eighth. The University of Wisconsin-Stout ranks ninth and Bethel University is tenth.

On the edge of the top-ten is A-R-C Champion, the University of Dubuque, in 11th, and Central College took the spot ahead of the Duhawks in 21st.

The Duhawks head to Augustana College on Thursday, May 19 for the Last Chance Meet and a final push to secure NCAA Division III National Championship qualifying marks.
