No. 22 Duhawks Complete Final Tune Up Before National Championship

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (May 19, 2022) – Competing one final time before heading to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championship in less than one week, the No. 22 Loras College men's track and field team saw multiple top-ten performances at the Augustana College Twilight Final Qualifier on Thursday.

Wyatt Kelly won the 1,500-meter run in 3:48.24, improving on his all-time mark to rank third in program history and rank 24th in the nation. Ted Kruse also ran an all-time mark in the 400-meter hurdles, ranking eighth in program history with a time of 54.13. The 4-by-400-meter relay of Kruse, Josh Smith, Carter Oberfoell and Mike Jasa ran the second-fastest time in program history and third-fastest in Division III this season, taking second in the race with a time of 3:11.65.

The Duhawks await the release of the official qualifiers headed to Geneva, Ohio for the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field National Championship beginning May 26.
