Brianna Renner and the 4-by-400-meter relay quartet of
Stevie Lambe,
Elayna Bahl,
Marion Edwards and
Alyssa Pfadenhauer headlined the No. 1 Loras College women's track and field team's final weekend of competition with a pair of school-record performances as the Duhawks competed at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Final Qualifier and the Augustana College Twilight Final Qualifier on Wednesday and Thursday for one last round of racing before heading to the national championship.
Renner started the Duhawks off with a school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Wednesday at La Crosse. The junior ran 11:03.63 to improve on her previous record by four seconds and win the race. She now ranks 23rd nationally. On Thursday at Augustana, Edwards won the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.02 seconds and
Harmony Creasy ran the seventh-fastest time in program history in the 400-meter dash, clocking a time of 57.46 to finish third. The 4-by-100-meter relay of Bahl, Pfadenhauer, Lambe and
Kelly Kohlhof finished second with a time of 46.48 before Bahl, Lambe, Edwards and Pfadenhauer capped off the night with a school-record 3:44.17 in the 4-by-400-meter relay, moving into the No. 2 spot in Division III. The same four held the previous record of 3:44.87 set last season.
The Duhawks await the release of the official qualifiers headed to Geneva, Ohio for the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field National Championship beginning May 26. The Duhawks look to defend their 2021 title as the national champions at the same facility where they brought home the program's first title in 2019.
