July 14, 2022 – A total of 11 Loras College men's and women's tennis student-athletes were named Division III Scholar Athletes by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), according to an official release by the organization on Tuesday afternoon. The Duhawks women's team was also named as a Division III All-Academic Team by the ITA.
Konnor Barth,
Sean Gelski,
Thomas Kampmier,
Kareem Kassas, and
Nolan Teubel were named as ITA Scholar Athletes for the men's team while
Dorothy Deans,
Lauren Diiulio,
Lisa Reed,
Isabel Schwabe,
Molly Monson, and
Clair Moore earned the honor from the women's team.
In total, the ITA acknowledged 940 men and 940 women as Scholar Athletes for the 2021-22 season. The Duhawks women's team is among 125 women's tennis programs to earn All-Academic Team honors from this past season.
To be named an ITA Scholar Athlete, individuals must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the current academic year. All-Academic Team honors require the teams to maintain a collective GPA of 3.2 or higher.
