Box Score 2 ORLANDO, Fla. – The Loras College women's tennis team split a pair of matches against Albion College and Moravian University on the second day of their spring break trip. The Duhawks won their first match up against Albion before falling to Moravian.
Loras 7, Albion College 0
The first match of the day was all Duhawks as the Purple and Gold secured all seven points.
In doubles play,
Mary Breitbach and
Megan Covelli were victorious at No. 1, defeating Rosy Zuun and Paityn Chant 6-3.
Alexis Tatum and
Lauren Keiper followed with a 6-2 victory at No. 3, while
Saydie Roling and
Brooke Burger secured the doubles sweep with a 7-5 win over Ada Feasby and Mackenzie Fox, 7-5.
The momentum carried over into singles play with six Duhawk victories.
Breitbach won her match 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1. Tatum was a winner at No. 2 6-2, 6-3 and Covelli won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3. Keiper was a winner at No. 4, 6-1, 6-1, while Roling and Burger kept the scoreboard purple with victories at No. 5, and 6.
Loras 1, Moravian University 6
The ladder match of the day was a struggle for the Duhawks who dominated the prior match.
In doubles play, Keiper and Tatum got Loras off to a good start with a 6-0 win at No. 3 but wins by Kaelyn Balko and Natalia Smith at No. 2 and Izzy Szmodis and Leah Zolotareva at No. 1 secured the doubles point for Greyhounds.
In singles play, Burger was the lone winner, taking down Madi Schottman at No. 6 in a tiebreaker.
