DECORAH, Iowa – After an early goal by
Reed Miklavcic, the Loras College men's soccer team captured its seventh shutout victory of the season in a 1-0 match against Luther College on Wednesday night.
Miklavcic wasted no time getting the Duhawks on the board, as the Frankfort, Ky. native netted his 11
th goal of the year merely three and a half minutes into the contest off an assist by
Owen Ivanuck.
Loras (9-3-4 overall, 4-2 A-R-C) made the lead stand the rest of the way to improve to 4-1 on the road.
Ben Krogman turned in a clean sheet, his first of the year with over 30 minutes played, notching three saves on 14 Norse shots.
The first four shots of the night belonged to the Duhawks, with Miklavcic,
Cole Bridson,
Ethan Kelly and
Liam Bennett all taking one.
The Norse (6-5-5, 4-2-1) took the next five shots to close out the half, but all were unsuccessful as Krogman collected his first save of the evening.
The second half saw Luther take nine shots to the Duhawks' two, but Loras held on to close out the victory.

- Luther had 14 shots to Loras' six, but each team recorded three shots on goal.
- The Norse held a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks.
- The victory is the first against Luther for Loras since 2018, snapping a streak of seven contests without a win.
