DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Loras College women's volleyball team was defeated by the Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairie Wolves in four sets Saturday afternoon on senior day.
The Duhawks came out strong in the first set, winning the set by a score of 25-18. Set two was an extra point thriller that did not go the Duhawks way, as they dropped the set 30-28. Loras (12-14 overall, 3-4 A-R-C) would go on to lose the next two sets 25-20 and 25-15.
The Duhawks were led by
Sophie Younkin, who had 18 kills on the afternoon.
Cat Meyer added 11 kills for the Purple and Gold. The lone Loras senior,
Sara Hoskins, tallied 47 assists on the afternoon to add to her career total. Hoskins also had 19 digs and two blocks. Nebraska Wesleyan (18-7, 7-1) was led by Addie Thomas with 19 kills. Elecea Saathoff had 39 kills, while Nyah Chambers added four blocks.
Up Next: The Duhawks will travel to Coe College on Nov. 1 to round out American Rivers Conference action.
