DUBUQUE, Iowa- The Loras College men's soccer team advances to the American Rivers Conference championship match, following a 3-0 win over Luther College inside the Rock Bowl Wednesday night.
Ethan Kelly wasted no time getting the Duhawks on the scoreboard as he found the back of the net just three minutes into the contest off an assist from
Reed Miklavcic. Loras (12-3-4 overall, 6-2-0 A-R-C) continued to put pressure on the Luther defense with another goal in the ninth minute of the first half. This time it was
Cole Bridson who netted his second goal of the year to give the Duhawks an early 2-0 lead. The first half scoring frenzy came to an end after
Michael Koutsopanagos put a shot past the Norse goalkeeper in the 27
th minute. The Duhawks held a 3-0 lead going into the second half.
The second half was a defensive battle as neither team was able to find the back of the net. Luther (6-8-6, 6-2-0) put three shots on goal over the course of the half, but
Ben Krogman stood tall in goal through 90 minutes of play to come away with a clean sheet.Â
