April 12, 2023 – Sophomore outfielder Max McCallum led the Loras College baseball team to a doubleheader sweep last week and played his way onto the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week for April 3-9.

McCallum helped the Duhawks sweep the doubleheader over crosstown rivals University of Dubuque last Wednesday as he went 3-for-5 and 3-for-7 in those two contests with three RBIs in each game, a double, a stolen base, and two home runs in the series. Loras won the first game 8-3 before winning the second game 7-6 in 12 innings.

The next day, the Duhawks headed to face 10^th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where they fell 14-4 in eight innings. McCallum tallied two of the team's seven hits in the game, giving him his 14^th multi-hit game already this season and his fourth such game in a row. McCallum finished the week with a .500 batting average (8-for-16).

This marks the first time in McCallum's career that he has been selected to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week. The sophomore leadoff man is currently the team leader with 40 hits, 33 runs, and 65 total bases.

After McCallum and his Duhawk teammates downed Simpson College 10-6 in a single game on Tuesday, they'll head west to Nebraska Wesleyan University for a weekend series starting on Friday, April 14 at 3 P.M.
