No. 2 Women’s Track & Field Performs Well at SAU Easter Weekend Meet

April 6, 2023

DAVENPORT, Iowa (April 6, 2023) – A rare midweek event for No. 2 Loras College women's track & field yielded some solid results as the Duhawks totaled three event wins and 12 top-three finishes.

Sophomore Harmony Creasy impressed in the long jump yet again as she claimed the top spot on the podium with a jump of 5.85 meters. That mark eclipsed Creasy's school-record mark from last weekend and ranks her second in Division III this season as of Thursday morning.

Creasy also impressed in the triple jump as she finished as the runner-up to teammate Grace Alley. Alley, Creasy, and Aaliyah Collier took the top three spots in the event for a clean Duhawk sweep.

Alley took the top spot with a 12.04-meter mark that ties an old mark from Creasy for the program record. That mark ranks Alley No. 1 in Division III this season while Creasy's best wind-legal mark of 11.96 meters ranks her at No. 2 in Division III.

Freshman Caitlyn Cox wasted no time in claiming her first outdoor win of the season as the indoor All-American in the weight throw took the top spot in Wednesday's hammer throw with a 46.48-meter toss. Junior Taylor Flaig came home third in the event with a mark of 44.39 meters.

Other notable finishes for the Duhawks included Collier taking second place in the high jump ahead of teammates Sara Hoskins in third, Julia Klein in fourth, and Emily Fields in fifth. Senior Marion Edwards took second place in the 100-meter dash as Creasy followed in third and Kelly Kohlhof followed in fourth.

The Duhawks will be off this weekend before their next event on Saturday, April 15, at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Invite.
