WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Loras College men's soccer team captured its third shutout win of the season, downing Carroll University, 1-0, on Wednesday night.
The Duhawks (4-0-2 overall) faced a stingy Carroll (3-3-0) offense that dominated in shots (26-9), but thanks to
Reed Miklavcic, that didn't matter. Facing a penalty kick in the game's 72
nd minute, Miklavcic's shot hit Carroll's goalie and ricocheted off to the back of the net to give Loras the only lead it needed throughout the night.
Despite solid press from the Pioneers all night long, goalkeeper
Owen Johnson was on his toes and racked up five saves, including two in the final 18 minutes of action. Physicality was on full display, as each team finished with double-digit fouls (16 – Carroll, 10 – Loras).
Game Notes
- Carroll led in shots (26-9) and corners (6-2), while the Duhawks matched in shots on goal (5-5).
