LISLE, Ill. – The Loras College women's volleyball team soared to a 3-1 victory over tournament host, Benedictine University, on day one of the Eagle Classic at the Dan and Ada Rice Center.
The Duhawks started out strong taking the first two sets by scores of 25-21 and 25-23. Benedictine (0-1) responded with a 25-21 victory in the third set, but Loras (1-0) handled the Eagles with ease in the fourth set, 25-15, to earn their first win of the season.
Patrycja Jarzabek and
Autumn Finch led the Loras offense with 13 and 12 kills respectively.
Jenna Bistline tallied a team-high 22 digs, while
Sara Hoskins totaled 39 assists and four blocks for the Duhawks.
Loras looks to grab a pair of wins on day two of the Eagle Classic against Wisconsin Lutheran College at 10:00 a.m. and DePauw University at 12:00 p.m.
