DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College Duhawk men's soccer team earned a 4-1 victory over Concordia College (Minn.) on Sunday morning at the Rock Bowl. The win moves the Duhawks to 2-0 in the early goings of the season, while the Cobbers fell to 1-1.
Things got underway in the game's 11
th minute when
Liam Bennett netted his third goal of the season off an assist from
Owen Ivanuck.
Andrew Karnatz put the Duhawks up 2-0 in the 38
th minute on an assist from junior
Carson Woods.
At the half, Loras held a strong advantage in shots (13-3) and corners (5-1).
Michael Koutsopanagos continued the scoring frenzy for Loras in the 54th minute, netting his second goal of the season off a
Reed Miklavcic assist. Miklavcic then got in on the fun himself, scoring his first goal of the season and last of the day for Loras less than three minutes later. Ivanuck set Miklavcic up nicely for his second assist of the day.
The Cobbers finished out today's scoring with a late goal from Leo Dunor at the 70:40 mark.
