LINCOLN, Neb. – The Loras College men's soccer team fell 2-1 on the road to Nebraska Wesleyan University on Saturday night at Stewart Field.
The Duhawks (6-2-3 overall, 1-1 A-R-C) landed the first hit when
Michael Brandt scored his second goal of the season off an assist by
Reed Miklavcic in the game's 15
th minute. The lead lasted most of the contest, but Nebraska Wesleyan (7-1-2, 1-1) battled late and scored an equalizing goal by way of Jaden Hayes in the 78
th minute.
Both teams ramped up the intensity with only 10 minutes to play, but it was the Prairie Wolves who succeeded when Hayes scored his second goal of the night at 80:56, putting Loras into a tough spot. The Duhawks were able to fire off one shot in the final 10 minutes, which came by way of
Dani Galiana Torres in the 83
rd minute. However, NWU's Zachary Weis saved the shot and kept Loras off the board. The Purple and Gold struggled to find another opportunity to fire off a shot against a tough NWU squad, ending the game at 2-1.

- Nebraska Wesleyan led the game in shots (15-14) and corner kicks (9-8).
- Both teams landed six shots on goal and each committed nine fouls.
- The script flipped on each half, as Loras was more aggressive from an offensive perspective in the first half at eight shots to five, but the Prairie Wolves held an advantage in the second half at 10 to six.
