NEW ORLEANS, La. – Following another strong showing at the Spartan Shootout last weekend, the Loras College men's and women's track and field teams continue to both be ranked in the USTFCCCA National Ratings Index, with the women holding the No. 2 spot while the men dropped to No. 11, the organization announced on Tuesday.
For the women, 10 Duhawks have national top-10 marks, with
Grace Alley (high jump, pentathlon) and
Emma Seipel (long jump) holding national-leading marks in their respective events.
Harmony Creasy and
Caitlyn Cox each hold the second-best mark in their event, giving the Duhawks a combined 21.05 points.
On the men's side,
Ryan Harvey leads the way with the fourth-best time in the mile (4:05.04), giving Loras 15.77 points.
Holden Murphy holds two top-15 marks, with his weight throw coming in at fifth.
Joe Franke is sixth in the 800 meters, while the 4x400 meter relay squad is ninth with their time of 3:18.06.
The Duhawks will return to action this Friday and Saturday at Illinois Wesleyan College. On Friday, select athletes will compete in multis before action gets underway on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
